Violet Rumble (x Karu) - Rum Barrel-Aged Stout With Honeycomb

We’re back with our annual collaboration with our great mates at Karu Distillery. This year, we’ve taken our Imperial Stout and blended it with beer that has spent over two years patiently maturing in Karu’s Outcask rum barrels at our Redfern Taproom. Time has transformed it, layering rich rum character through every sip while allowing the beer and barrel to become one.

The result is a decadent stout brimming with notes of molasses, vanilla, toasted oak and warming spice, woven seamlessly through a base of roasted malt, dark chocolate and freshly brewed espresso. To finish, we added honeycomb, bringing a delicate caramel sweetness that softens the roast and perfectly complements the rum-soaked oak. Rich without being heavy and complex without demanding your attention, it unfolds with every sip, revealing another layer of flavour that makes it well worth slowing down for.
